Greetings Social Studies class,
By the end of the period you need to log into this blog - and post a comment on this post detailing what your chosen research topic is for the assessment task. Can you please be detailed and give me and "overview" of what approach you are going to take... possible case studies you will use etc.
Remember - you have resources at your disposal - including the "Resources Under Pressure" and "Sustainability" text books at the front of the class. They would be a great source of inspiration if you are struggling for a topic!
Make sure you log into the blog first - then write your comment - and post (waiting for me to moderate your comments!).
Cheers,
Ms Fridd. :)
renewable energy!
ReplyDeletesee how to use things like solar energy, wind farming and hydro power efficiently and which is best to use
i chose this because i find it interesting and it will be the future of powering
goals are to find the best and most efficient source of how to renew energy
Sounds good Oli !
DeleteLimited Resource: Oil
ReplyDeleteReason: Earth is running out of oil, meaning most machinery would soon not work. This means that every machine will have difficulty running unless they run on a different resource like Vegetable oil.
Good topic Michael.. look at different renewable or "green" options for energy
DeleteMy project is going to be looking at problems with power needs and ways to use renewable energy scores.
ReplyDeleteSounds good Jack.
DeleteI am doing the over fishing problem
ReplyDeleteFisheries & the over-fishing problem is a good one to look at Harry.
DeleteI will do Plastics, Look at whats bad about plastics, what they do to the environment, how it hurts animals, Why we use them in the first place and what we could use to replace Plastics
ReplyDeleteSounds good James. Identifying ways that we can become more "green" would be great - we as individuals can make a huge difference and reduce the plastics going into our landfills etc.
DeleteI am doing "the white tiger". how it became endangered, what we can do to help it, where it can be found etc
ReplyDeleteJust make sure you've got some of the "big picture" stuff in there. Think back to what we've done in class with our topic stuff - Resources Under Pressure and Sustainability. It has to be a part of the "big" issues we've been talking about - in particular how we are hurting the earth, issues with certain natural resources being under pressure, sustainable living etc. Is this issue going to be big enough?? Focus on Sustainable Species as an issue perhaps and focus on several case studies of animals.
Deletewhite rihno

Great topic Mitchell ;) Something very relevant for all of us and we could all learn something!
Deletei am doing Ozone. in my opinion, it is quite important
ReplyDeleteGood Martin... but you need to be a bit more specific. Look at the effects of Global Warming on a resource/land area/animal etc. Let me know what your "re-thought-out" topic is ;)

ReplyDeleteOk, sounds good Carl.
