ReplyDelete1) I didn't know that Plastics took 500-1000 years to break down, There is a Plastic Dump in the Pacific and that Greenhouse gasses are melting the Ice Caps
2)Its Important to utilize different sources of energy because Fossil fuels will eventually run out
3)Recycling is important because you can reuse materials instead of throwing it away, We could make more recyclable materials
4)A Green building is a building that is good for the environment, Its important because the building recycles things
5)We need to conserve them because they don't last forever and we will run out
6) we need to conserve it because it will soon run out
7)We need to conserve it so we don't produce as much carbon emissions
8)we need to conserve water because only 3% of earths water is fresh

how many species overfishing is effecting
how many people overfishing is effecting
2)
because this is our future of energy
3)
if we dont recycle we will have to live in our rubbish
4)
a green building has zero emissions because it has its own renewable energy source and has lots of plants to take co2 out of the air
5)
So we don't use to much energy because we are running out
6)
It is non renewable and will eventually run out

1. I learn't that there are many ways in which you can save power. e.g by buying energy efficant cars, checking energy star raitings on appliances.
2. TO save power and money and to stop the effects of global warming.
3. We need to rycyle because if we dont the stuff we don't use just gets burned of thrown away making more green house gasses. Everyone uses the recycling bins and schools adverties recycling.
4. Green building is building houses and buildings enviromentally and nature friendly. This is important because it doesn't destroy natural
habitats.
5. Beacsuse they power and warm places.
6. Gasoline powers equipment and house hold applinces that without, we would not be able to cook
7. Electricity is our main sorce of power around the world, without we might die
8. Without water we could not shower, wash or clean dishes. Waas we could
save water are by: putting a container in the sink so you can use the water you put in there over and over again and limit your selfs to 5-10 minute showers
Michael Lagocki:
ReplyDelete1) that oil and other resources are being used WAY too much, and they will soon run out. we can't go this way!
2) because we can run out of resources if we don't! I say STOP with the oil, plastics, and other stupid resources that kill our planet.
3) it helps save the environment because if it is recycled it will be reused, and not have to wait 400 years to decompose, leaving harmful gases and pollution in its wake.
4) a green building: a building that all of the people who work there recycle, reuse, and don't make pollution.
5) because we could find a way to save it or use it for more useful things.
6) because we DON'T NEED TO USE IT, use bikes, or solar panels.
7) because we make it from coal, and other resources that are slowly running out, they are UNDER PRESSURE!
8) water is what humans/other animals need to survive, no water, no life, world dies, end of story.
1. we are running out of oil. the population has exploded, we need to do something about it.
ReplyDelete2. global warming will sink the world
3. if we dont recycle we will live in our own rubbish
4. dont have a clue
5. because we are running out
6. we are running out
7. we are running out
8. we are running out, turn taps off
1. 1/5th of the world's power is produced by hydro dams, you can use a solar panel to heat your hot water cylinder, I now know what a wet back fire was.
ReplyDelete2. Because non renewable energy sources are running out.
3. If we don't recycle we will pollute the earth because the materials we recycle take a very long time to decompose. we can reuse plastic bags, plastic bottles. Also we can reuse our shower water to water the garden.
4. A green building is a building that uses solar panels that produce power for the building, also the solar panels would heat the hot water cylinder. The people inside the building would reuse and recycle.
5. It is non renewable and will eventually run out
6. It is non renewable and will eventually run out
7. using too much harms the environment and if we need to use more we need to make more suppliers of electricity that can harm the environment like Hydro dams
8. Global warming is coming fast and water is running out. we can reuse our shower water to water the garden. if your having a bath don't fill the tub right to the top.
1. 1/5th of the world's power is produced by hydro dams, you can use a solar panel to heat your hot water cylinder, I now know what a wet back fire is.
Delete2. Because non renewable energy sources are running out.We can solve some of these issues by supplying and using our own energy like using solar panels, we could also use a wet back fire and save electricity and money.
3. If we don't recycle we will pollute the earth because the materials we recycle take a very long time to decompose. we can reuse plastic bags and plastic bottles. We can recycle metals, glass and even oil which can be very useful because oils are running out very fast. Also we can reuse our shower water to water the garden. This is also very useful because due to global warming water is getting harder to find.
4. A green building is a building that uses solar panels that produce power for the building, also the solar panels would heat the hot water cylinder. it would have double glazed windows to save money and power because they would't have to heat the building so much. If it was a house you would have a vege garden. The people inside the building would reuse and recycle.
5. It is non renewable and will eventually run out. Heating sources like coal are mined way to quickly for our needs. We need to start making more electricity suppliers because efficient heating comes from electricity like heat pumps.
6. It is non renewable and will eventually run out. we don't realise how much we rely on gasoline. a lot of our cooking facilities have to be run with gasoline like stove tops.
7. using too much harms the environment and if we need to use more we need to make more suppliers of electricity. That can harm the environment. For example hydro dams flood so much native forrest and kill so many native animals. This is a reason why we should make our own energy by using solar panels.
8. Global warming is coming fast and water is running out and becoming harder to find. especially in poor and extremely hot places like Africa. we can reuse our shower water to water the garden by collecting left over water any way you can. Weather you use a bucket or any other way you think you can collect water. if your having a bath don't fill the tub right to the top. if you are making a cup of tea or coffee don't fill the kettle right to the top because that waste electricity and if you tip the water out that you didn't use before then you are also wasting water.
1.
ReplyDelete- That people dump rubbish in the sea
- That the Japanese need to be banned from fishing
- That we are going to run out of fish
2. Because Fossil fuels will soon run out.
3. Recycling is important so we don't run out of resources. Make it compulsory to have a recycling bin
4. A green building is a building that is mad of recycled stuff and recycles all is stuff. This will be important in the future to save the world.
5. So we don't use to much energy.
6. So we don't run out. And don't let of bad fumes
7. We don't.
8. We don't there is heaps of water. Turn of taps and reuse water.

1. That the population of animals is going down because of global warming, the population of humans is going down because of global warming, the world is running out of oil.
ReplyDelete2. because we will run out of resources if we dont.
3. it is important to recylcle because we will polute the earth if you don't.
4. ?
5. So we don't use to much energy because we are running out.
6. Because it will eventually run out.
7.Because it will run out if we don't

ReplyDelete1. I didn't know that plastics take so long to break down, That so much plastic is dumped into the ocean and that we are running out of fish.
2. Because soon things like wood and coal are going to be all used up.
3.Recycling is important because it is reausing materils such as plastic.
4.So the houses of the future let of less green house gases.
5. So we don't use to much energy.
6.sow we don't run out of it
7.because it costs alot to produse
8. I read that if you take a bucket of water and take a teaspoon of water out of the bucket, that is all the freash water in the world, the rest is salt water. if you take a drop out of the teaspoon that is all the fresh water avalible to us. so you can see why we need to presreve it.
1. the large amount of rubbish that people dump in the sea
ReplyDeletehow bad the Japanese are for overfishing
that we can do so much to prevent global warming and we do nothing because it is easier to live the way we are
2. to stop global warming and because fossil fuels are running out
3. recycling saves energy and helps stop global warming
4. a green building has zero emissions because it has its own renewable energy source and has lots of plants to take co2 out of the air
5. because soon there will be none left and most heating sources come from fossil fuels
6.because soon there will be none left and we will kill our planet with co2
7. because most of the electricity is generated from fossil fuels
8. because it is also a precious resource and once it is gone it is hard to get back, install grey water systems
jack gibbons
1. Japan is terrible at overfishing, that there is a large amount of rubbish in the sea, and that global warming has damaged the earth and will continue to.
ReplyDelete2. all our fossil fuels are going out extremely quickly, and to stop global warming.
3. helps global warming and saves energy
4. so the houses in the future let off less green house gasses
5. so we dont use as much energy because we are running out
6.so we do not run out
7. we dont
8. because water is running out very quickly, use it wisely.

ReplyDelete1. that we need to use more Renewable Energy
2. that there is 2 type of Solar power
3. Solar power is the best type of Renewable Energy
2.Why is it important to develop and utilize alternative forms of energy?

1.Global warming is coming fast and water is running out. we can reuse our shower water to water the garden.
By hamish
1. A.one of the key thinks I learn't was that we are rapidly running out of water and if we don't preserve it, we will soon have no water left at all
ReplyDeleteB. I didn't realise that plastics took so long to break down, it tkes the averge plastic bag 500 years to break down. That is a long time.
C. Every one takes fish for granted, but what they don't realise is that if we keep fishing at our current rate all the fish will be gone by 2050. this may seem like a long time but it isen't.
2. if we don't devople or put to use the ideas we hav things like coal burning and other poluting scemes will destory the ozone layer and golbal warming will majourly increase.
3. Recycling is very important because it is reuseing what has already been used, it means that less things have to go to the land fill. Whys we could better use recycling, such as making a quota of how much rubish you could use.
4. A Green building is a building that is good for the environment, Its important because the building recycles things. and it has a very small carbon footprint.
5. because many heating resourses are nearly empty.
6. because without gas none of the majour companys would be able to transport things, not to mention things like oil and petrol are drying up quite fast.
7.electricty is something we don't have much of and if we save it the goverment will save millions of dollars each year
8. I read that if you take a bucket of water and take a teaspoon of water out of the bucket, that is all the freash water in the world, the rest is salt water. if you take a drop out of the teaspoon that is all the fresh water avalible to us. so you can see why we need to presreve it
1. Three things I learnt about this unit are:
ReplyDelete- That Japanese eats way too much fish!
- That some Japanese are fishing illegally
- That people dump waste and old nets into the sea that can kill other fish
2. It is very important that we develop new forms of energy because we are running out of resources very fast. The future people are going to need power and we have to look after the planet
3. Recycling is very important:
- Huge amounts of energy are used when making new objects. Recycling objects uses less energy therefore preserving energy.
- This would save lots of money for countries.
- It would preserve natural resources for the future people
4. A green building is a building that is made from recycled sources. It is run off renewable energy and has lots of plants on its roof to compensate for its carbon footprint.
5. Because most heating comes from fossil fuels and if we use them for our heating we will run out. In the future we may need fossil fuels for important uses.
6. We need to conserve gasoline so we can use it for studies that are in space. We will need it so we can fly up to satellites to fix them.
7. In my opinion we don’t really need to conserve energy because it is renewable. What we need to do is not use fossil fuels to make energy or nuclear. We need to use more windmills and solar.
8. We need to preserve fresh water mainly because only 3% of the earth’s waters is fresh. We need to find a sufficient way to turn salt water into fresh water

4. What is a green building? Why is it important to incorporate this type of construction into future construction projects?
to keep your house worm
your recycling all of your wast and stuff
5. Why do we need to conserve heating fuels?
because soon there will be none left and most heating sources come
6. Why do we need to conserve gasoline?
so we don't run out of it
7. Why do we need to conserve electricity?
because most of the electricity is generated from fossil fuels
8. Why do we need to conserve water? And identify ways in which you can save water in your homes.
Global warming is coming fast and water is running out. we can reuse our shower water to water the garden.
1. What have you learned about Sustainability during this unit? Name 3 things you didn't know before we started (*and be serious!) During this topic i have learned that we are quickly running out of fossil fuels, that oil is most properly going to run out in the next 100 years. I learned that there are many different types of sustainable electricity and we only use a minuscule amount of sustainable energy when earth has massive opportunity for renewable energy sources. I discovered that the population is growing at an incredibly fast rate, between last year and this year the population has grown by two hundred million people.
ReplyDelete2. WHY is it important to develop and utilize alternative forms of energy? It is important to use sustainable energy more because we are rapidly running out of fossil fuels and by using unsustainable energy we are creating green house gasses the get released into the atmosphere.
3. WHY is recycling so important? And HOW can we do better in our recycling efforts? By recycling more we do not produce as much greenhouse gasses by reproducing the exact same thing that we throw away. We also would not waste as much room on landfills that could be used for other developments. If everybody did their part in recycling there would be a dramatic decrease in the amount of greenhouse gasses produced. We could have more recycling bins accessible to the public. We could get companies to use more recyclable materials and reuse there product.
4. What is a green building? Why is it important to incorporate this type of construction into future construction projects? A green building is a building that has maximum insulation, uses little energy and has a low energy form of heating. We need to be building more green buildings in the future to use less energy and create healthier homes.
5. WHY do we need to conserve heating fuels? We need to conserve heating fuels such as wood and coal because we are using these fuels at a faster rate than we can reproduce them. We could switch to heating fuels such as renewable sources of electricity for heating our homes.
6. WHY do we need to conserve gasoline? The worlds oil is running out very fast, there will properly be no oil left in the next one hundred years. Oil drilling creates massive disasters such as the gulf of Mexico disaster which destroyed a whole ecosystem. Gasoline lets out green house gasses as well. We could use solar power and other methods to power our automobiles.
7. WHY do we need to conserve electricity? As the population grows we are forced to use more electricity therefore we have to build more electricity sources. Only about 1/5 of electricity produced is sustainable so this releases a lot of green house gasses into the atmosphere. By just turning the power off at the wall we could cut down on house much electricity we use dramatically.
8. WHY do we need to conserve water? And IDENTIFY ways in which you can save water in your homes. Earths fresh water supplies are diminishing and the wealthy half of the world is using most of the water we have. By making sure the taps a fully turned off when you are finished will use less water, or by having shorter showers we could cut down on how much water we use. Turning the tap off when you are brushing your teeth will help as well.

ReplyDeletethat there are many different types of renewable energy
that solar power is the most efficient energy
that geothermal is the least efficient energy
2. Why is it important to develop and utilize alternative forms of energy?
because this is our future of energy, we will need to use nenewbale energies more and more as it helps towards stopping global warming
3. Why is recycling important? And How can we do better in our recycling efforts?
because we have to do it to save the earth, all of our non recyclebale items are being sent to huge landfills and this is putting a huge money hole in our pocket as well as killing many many many native animals
4. What is a green building? Why is it important to incorporate this type of construction into future construction projects?
a building that is made out of renewable sources, because we need to renew our resources to stop global warming, recycling is possibly the best way to help the earth
5. Why do we need to conserve heating fuels?
because it is eco friendly and there are other means of doing it such as solar power and getting power from wind farms etc...
6. Why do we need to conserve gasoline?
because we will soon run out of it, and there will soon be other ways t fuel and make our cars work
7. Why do we need to conserve electricity?
because it is eco friendly and it will cost us less, and yet again there are many means availible rather than just using straight power, things like wind, solar, and tidal power are very good to help us
8. Why do we need to conserve water? And identify ways in which you can save water in your homes.
